EASTER IN THE CITY CHURCHES - 2007
A celebration of the entire diocese will mark the beginning of the most significant days in the Catholic Church's calendar when Most Reverend Martin Drennan, Bishop of Galway will preside at the Holy Week Ceremonies in the Cathedral.
MASS OF CHRISM
A particular liturgical highlight is the celebration of the Holy Thursday Mass of Chrism at 11am which the Bishop, with the priests of the whole diocese concelebrating Mass, performs the Ceremony of the blessing of the Oils which will be used in the administration of the Sacraments throughout the year.
EVERY PARISH REPRESENTED
Every parish sends representatives to this liturgy and the special theme of the priesthood is further emphasised by the presence in a privileged position of the parents of priests whom the Bishop has personally invited to the Ceremony.
